The Lansing River Trail now stretches all the way from Waverly Road to Old Town! You can also catch it from Potter Park into MSU and soon onto Lake Lansing Parks. Altogether, over 20 miles of paved trail pass through numerous parks and natural areas, as well as Downtown Lansing.
Hawk Island County Park is a 100 acre park, located on Cavanaugh Road, between Pennsylvania Avenue and Aurelius Road, in south Lansing is the newest park in our system. Long-time residents will remember the Sablain Gravel Pit location, which has been transformed into a beautiful park featuring natural planting areas.
Our 14 acres of diverse gardens are a superb retreat and resource for gardeners, plant lovers and children of all ages! You can easily get a bit of exercise while walking the displays. You may get garden design ideas, or learn new annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees - or perhaps even a fruit or vegetable new to you. Historically named after the decade of brick production that once took place on site, Lincoln Brick Park is located just north of Grand Ledge on Tallman Road one mile west of M-100 off of State Road. This 90 acre park is composed of a variety of habitats from woodlands and open meadows to over 6,000 feet of scenic river frontage.
