Lisa Alexander was born and raised in Lansing. She graduated from Lansing Everett, then attended Ferris State University, where she earned my bachelors in social work. She worked in the Lansing area after graduation for a few years before returning to school to earn her master's degree in social work from Michigan State University. Students say Lisa is "always willing to take time with students and find additional solutions."
Marissa joined RCAH as the Director of Student Success and Advising in 2022. She has been at MSU since 2017, where she earned an MA in Student Affairs Administration with a graduate certificate in Teaching and Learning in Postsecondary Education, and she served as an academic advisor for the College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Prior to coming to MSU, she worked as an admission counselor at the University of Iowa, where she earned her BA in Psychology and International Studies. Student say "she cares so deeply about students, not just their academic success but also their personal growth and progress."
Students say Dawn is "amazing and always nice and friendly and always helping."
Dustin DuFort Petty has been the Academic Advisor for the Bailey Scholars Program since 2013. Dustin earned his BS from MSU in Agriculture & Natural Resources Communications and a specialization from Connected Learning from the Bailey Scholars Program. In 2019, Dustin earned his MA from MSU in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education (HALE). Students say Dustin is "kind, helpful, knowledgeable and really cares about the students he serves."
Patrick Arnold is an academic specialist in GenCen entering his third year with the Center and the Women’s and Gender Studies program. He serves as the academic advisor for all undergraduate and graduate students in GenCen programs, and also coordinates student internships, assists in curriculum development, and teaches WGS courses. His passions are to facilitate student success at every level of the college experience, and to advocate for gender and racial equity in MSU policies, curriculum, and culture. Students say he "is encouraging, personable, intelligent and a world changer!"
