Hawk Island County Park is a 100 acre park, located on Cavanaugh Road, between Pennsylvania Avenue and Aurelius Road, in south Lansing is the newest park in our system. Long-time residents will remember the Sablain Gravel Pit location, which has been transformed into a beautiful park featuring natural planting areas.
Once a popular amusement park, Lake Lansing Park South is located in Haslett on Lake Lansing, the largest body of water within 30 miles of Lansing. Lake Lansing is 1.2 miles long and 1 mile wide with a maximum depth of 34 feet. The 30 acre-site includes a sandy beach bordered by four acres of lush green grass. The historical carousel building has been preserved as a reminder of the park's rich history. Come out for a day of picnicking, swimming, and fishing.
Fitzgerald Park is a spectacular 78-acre, all-seasons park. The eastern boundary of the park provides tremendous views of the Grand River, fish ladder, and dam. No visit to the park is complete without viewing the famous sandstone ledges, and ancient sedimentary rock outcroppings that line the banks of the Grand River.
Motz County park is a 42-acre park with 15 acres of water (Searles Lake) for boating, fishing, picnicking and swimming. Located near the corner of French and DeWitt Roads in Greenbush Township, the park officially open to the public on June 12, 2010.
